Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the titled head with high preciseness capable of obtaining certain printing only by light touch, by fixedly securing a flexible print board having a pattern comprising fine head parts and line parts formed thereto in such a state that the pattern is under an outwardly confronted state and the head parts are bent. CONSTITUTION:A flexible print board 1 having a pattern comprising plural numbers of fine head parts having fine shape preciseness and line parts 3 connected thereto is held between holding plates 4 and fixedly secured thereto in such a state that the head parts 2 are subjected to bending processing and the bent ends of the head parts are brought into contact with a medium to be used as a head. By this method, because the heights of the head parts 2 become uniform and proper slight roundness is formed to the leading ends thereof, the medium is prevented from damage when the medium and the head parts are brought into slide contact relationship.

Discharge breakdown recording involves passing a current between electrodes that are in contact with the medium.
This method utilizes discharge micro-destruction caused by the difference in electrical resistance of the medium. By causing discharge micro-destruction in a state where the medium and recording paper are overlapped, micro-fractured pieces of the medium collide with and adhere to the recording paper. Therefore, by finely controlling this discharge microdestruction, it is possible to perform the function of a printer. However, in order to fully perform its function as a printer, the problem is how to organize the electrodes, and this largely depends on the quality of the head. Generally, a head is used in which a metal rond with a diameter of 200 to 300 μm is used as an anode, and a cathode is set at a position slightly apart from the anode. It is fine if there are only a few metal rods, but recently there is a demand for higher density, and when the dot density increases to 8 to 10 dots/dot, the metal rods need to be less than 100 μm in diameter and the pitch dimension is less than 100 μm. Extremely difficult to implement. In other words, how to maintain insulation between metal rods.
In addition, there are problems such as how to maintain pitch accuracy, how to mount and secure the metal rods, and how to connect the head and signal wires, and even if it is possible with a few prototypes, it is almost impossible when considered as a product. It's almost impossible. When recording, it is necessary to bring the tip of the metal rod into sliding contact with the medium, and if the tip of the metal rod is not finished well, there are many cases where the medium will be damaged. In the case of a metal rod, it is necessary to reduce the contact pressure of the head to prevent damage, as there is a risk of damaging the medium. However, when the contact pressure is low, it is difficult to ensure reliable contact between the medium and the metal rod, and clear printing is not guaranteed or there is a high probability that printing errors will occur.

An object of the present invention is to provide a discharge recording head that eliminates such drawbacks. According to the present invention, a pattern corresponding to a fine head portion is formed on a flexible printed board,
After the fine head portion is bent, the bent end is brought into contact with the medium to obtain a discharge recording head that can be used as a head.

Fig. gt is a perspective view of a flexible printed board portion of a discharge recording head showing an embodiment of the present invention, and Fig. 2 is a sectional view showing a state of contact between the discharge recording head, a medium, and recording paper. In FIG. 1, reference numeral 1 denotes a flexible printed board, on which a pattern of fine head portions 2 and line portions 3 connected thereto are formed. The AAVi fold is a line, and the fold is processed by making the pattern of the fine head part 2 into a mountain fold. In FIG. 2, reference numeral 4 denotes a clamping plate, which clamps and fixes the printed board 1 with the head portion 2 bent. 5 is a medium, which is used together with the recording paper 6. When recording and transferring, set the recording paper 6 and the medium 5 one on top of the other,
Lightly press the head portion 2 of the printed board 1 against the medium 5.

At this time, the pattern of the head part 2 protrudes from the back surface resin 7 by the thickness of the back surface, and since the clamping plate 4 is fixed at the same position as the resin 7, the pattern of the head part 2 does not come into direct contact with the medium 5. What is present is the pattern section of the Rad section 2. As a result, when a current is passed through the pattern, it also flows into the medium 5, and since the medium 5 has an electrical resistance difference depending on the direction of the current, the medium 5 is damaged by discharge. The minute pieces of the medium 5 generated by the discharge breakdown at this time hit the recording paper 6 and adhere to it. That is, by finely controlling this discharge breakdown, desired printing can be achieved.

According to the etching type g, it is possible to form a large number of patterns with high precision and high density, and as a result, printing quality can be greatly improved. Furthermore, terminal processing of each head is simpler than in the past, and insulation between patterns is not required during mounting, making it possible to reduce mounting costs. The head portion formed by etching is uniform in height and has a suitable slight roundness at the tip, so that the medium will not be damaged when the medium and the head portion come into sliding contact. Print quality is also affected by the contact pressure between the medium and the head, and generally speaking, higher contact pressure (several tens of grams to several 6 grams) is advantageous, but it is associated with media damage, so pressure selection is important. I needed to be careful. However, as a result of the high nt and high density of this head, it is possible to obtain reliable printing even with extremely light contact (several grams) without damaging the medium. By reducing the contact pressure between the medium and the head, the mechanical structure of the printer can be easily compressed. When the contact pressure is high, dust tends to accumulate on the head portion, and the dust may cause a short circuit between patterns, but the small contact pressure can also solve such problems. Further, by reducing the contact pressure, consumption of the medium is reduced and durability can be increased. This head has many advantages as mentioned above.9. It is extremely advantageous economically, in terms of accuracy, and in terms of quality.
