Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent malfunction at reading, by displaying a frame so as to surround a character pattern only in a short time, in depressing a light pen on a screen. CONSTITUTION:An output signal from a CRT controller 2 is transmitted to a CRT display via a switch 5 at normal operation. In depressing the light pen 7 on a CRT display screen, a switch signal 14 is generated and the switch 5 changes over a signal given to the CRT display 6 to a pattern signal 15. The pattern signal 15 displays a frame on the CRT display screen. A timing signal is generated from the light pen 7 in receiving the light emission of this frame and the position is read. Even if the light pen 7 is depressed between characters, the position is detected accurately with the frame display. Since the frame emits light, the erroneous reading from adjacent light emission is prevented.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to an information input device comprising a CRT display device and a light pen input device.

This type of information input device has been conventionally used in the past, but its disadvantages include the following.

That is, (1) If there is a part on the CRT display screen with a luminous amount or color that makes it impossible for the light ben to operate, even if the light ben is brought to this part, the light ben will not be able to read the position information.

(II)CRT表示表示画アト表示パターンによっては

(II) Depending on the display pattern of the CRT display, adjacent displays have stronger light, and therefore, near the boundaries of adjacent displays, malfunctions such as erroneously reading adjacent positions occur. In particular, in a commonly used raster scan type CRT display, since the screen is scanned downward rather than upward, a -t error is likely to occur when a position one position above is read.

(m) In order to compensate for the shortcoming of (1), it is possible to increase the brightness of the entire CRT display screen for a short period of time in response to the ON signal of the light ben switch, or to change the entire CRT display screen to a color that is sensitive to the light ben. However, even with this method, it is still not possible to eliminate the malfunction of (It), and since the screen repeatedly flashes in a short period of time, there is a problem that the visual fatigue of the operator increases.

In view of these conventional problems, the present invention improves the effective resolution of a light pen without causing the display screen of the display means to flicker more than necessary and increasing visual fatigue of the operator.
The purpose of this is to reduce the occurrence of malfunctions.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the illustrated embodiments.
The figure shows a small block diagram of an example of the use of the device of the present invention. The host computer 1 connects the CRT controller 2 through the bus 1o.
It also controls and inputs the pattern generator 3 and write counter 4.

Video signal 117 output from CRT controller 2
(1. The image is sent from the switch 5 to the CRT display device 6 via the line 12, and the CRT display device 6 displays the human image on the CRT display. Meanwhile, the timing signal 13 from the CRT controller 2 causes the frame to change. The pattern generator 3 that generates the row is driven 4. Then, the light ben 7 is
When pressed against the T display screen, the light pen switch signal 14
When this occurs, the switch 6 switches from the video signal 11 to the frame pattern signal 15 in response to a switching signal generated by this switch signal. Therefore, the frame pattern signal 15 is sent to the CRT display device 6 via the line 12, and a frame is displayed on the CRT display in which the light receiving section of the human touch pen 7 can operate. In response to the light emission of this frame, a timing signal 16 is generated from the light receiving section of the light pen 7, and the light pen counter 4, which is rotating synchronously, is stopped by a clock signal 17 from the CRT controller 2. (return switch 5 at the same time)
Then, return the small frame table to video display. By reading the value of the light ben counter 4, the host combination computer 1 can know the location information of the light ben 7.

FIG. 2 illustrates details of switching the display image on the CRT display screen 18. FIG. 2A shows Nishinomiya's video display, and FIG. 2B shows the frame table/1mi from when the light pen 7 is pressed until the light pen counter 4 stops. In this way, even if there is a light ben 7 inside the position information search section 19 where the characters 20 are not displayed, the light ben is completed by the frame T array 21. It is confirmed. Moreover, at this time, the entire CRT table 7F screen 18 does not flash (blink), so the operator's fatigue fz is eliminated. It is 1, and the position information search section 19 is 4.
7 adjacent to f, even if the light ben 7 is brought near the boundary of the positional information search area 19, the light in the area where the light ben 7 is located will be lower than the light in the adjacent positional information search area 19. Since it is stronger, it is difficult to enter the light pen 7, and malfunctions such as reading the neighboring 0't and position are eliminated.

Note that the frame group array 21 is not limited to a specific portion of the CRT IT screen 18-j-, but may be displayed over the entire CRT screen 18-j-.

As shown in H below, according to the present invention, the light-receiving part of the light pen emits light for a short period of time on the front/J<screen of the display means, so that the above-mentioned display is not displayed as before. There is no need to make the display screen of the device blink more than necessary, which can prevent visual fatigue of the operator, improve the effective resolution of the light pen, and reduce the occurrence of malfunctions. There is great value.
