Claims

A ceramic ring is placed around a power generation element in which a positive electrode, an isolating layer, and a negative electrode are stacked in layers, metal sealing plates are placed above and below the power generation element, and the peripheral edge of the sealing plate and the ceramic ring are bonded with wax. In a flat battery that is welded with metal, a nickel-titanium shape memory alloy plate with a wavy cross section is placed between at least one electrode and the sealing plate, and heated to form a nickel-titanium shape memory alloy plate. A flat battery characterized in that a nickel-titanium shape memory alloy plate is restored to its memorized shape to establish electrical continuity between an electrode and a sealing plate.
