[Claims for Utility Model Registration] A plurality of recording or recording/reproducing heads provided corresponding to a plurality of channels of a recording medium and arranged in a straight line in a direction orthogonal to the scanning direction of the recording medium; , a plurality of erasing heads arranged to correspond to the plurality of channels on the upstream side of the plurality of recording or recording/reproducing heads; and a plurality of erasing heads arranged to correspond to the plurality of channels on the upstream side of the erasing head. a plurality of reproducing heads arranged in a straight line in a direction orthogonal to the scanning direction; and a recording selection switch for selectively enabling the plurality of recording or recording/reproducing heads. an erase selection switch for setting the erasing head corresponding to the recording or recording/reproducing head set in a recordable state to an erasing state; and selectively outputting reproduction signals obtained from the plurality of reproduction heads. A recording and reproducing device characterized in that it is equipped with a reproduction selection switch.
