Abstract

PURPOSE:To smooth the carrying by providing two co-operating pressing members at the carry path exchanging section of a belt conveyor for carrying postal matters such that each carry path can be formed linearly when the carry paths are exchanged. CONSTITUTION:Two pressing members 13, 14 are arranged at the branch of carry paths A, B, C formed by belt conveyors 1-4. With such arrangement, when exchanging the papers 9 from carry path A to B, the solenoids 15, 16 are deactivated to form the carry paths A, B linearly through said members 13, 14. When carrying to the direction C, the solenoids 15, 16 are activated simultaneously to form the carry paths A, C linearly through said members 13, 14.
