トネマチック型液晶表示装置において、−の液晶セルが
偏光板を挾んで他の液晶セルと隣設している部分におい
て、 −の液晶セル及び他の液晶セルの上記偏光板に接する電
極基板上にコーティングされた配向膜の配向方向は同一
であり、且つ、該偏光板の吸収軸は前記配向方向と一致
