Claims

[Scope of utility model registration request]

An electric field is applied between the two electrodes of a flat low-pressure discharge lamp having at least one pair of opposing electrodes at the end of the tube surface and a flat tube cross section, and a magnetic field generator perpendicular to the flat surface of the lamp is connected to the lamp. 1. A flat plate type low pressure discharge lamp device, characterized in that at least one magnetic field generating device is provided externally and the magnetic field generating device is turned on and off at a predetermined period.
