Claims

a fixed contact, a movable contact that moves toward and away from the fixed contact, a magnetic drive coil arranged to surround the fixed contact and to which an arc current is applied, and an annular shape arranged at an end of the magnetic drive coil. The arc running plate is housed in a container filled with an insulating gas having arc-extinguishing properties, and the arc is extinguished by rotating the arc along the arc running plate by the action of the magnetic field generated by the magnetic drive coil. In the container, a large number of guide plates are arranged that are inclined with respect to the circumferential direction of the arc running plate so as to surround an area in which the arc rotates in the container, and the large number of guide plates are adjacent to each other. A gas breaker characterized in that a portion of guide plates are provided so as to face each other with a gap therebetween.
