In a telephone circuit that closes a central office line with a high resistance during on-hook and charges a chargeable/dischargeable power source with a minute current flowing through the high resistance, a detection circuit detects substantial interruption of the minute current; 1. A telephone circuit comprising: a relay having a relay contact connected in series with a high resistance; the relay is operated by the detection output of the detection circuit to disconnect the high resistance from the office line and restore the state after a certain period of time.
