Abstract

PURPOSE:To stabilize the removing work of coated electrodes from an electrode placing hopper in a production stage for coated electrodes by constituting said hopper tiltably and disposing an oscillating table on the discharge gate side of the hopper. CONSTITUTION:A hopper 6 contg. a prescirbed amt. of coated electrodes W is placed on a supporting member 14, and is titled around a fulcrum 0 by the operation of a cylinder 15. As the hopper 6 tilts, the electrodes W therein flow out by gravity by each piece through a gate 7, roll on a transfer guide 8 and enter the inside of the small hopper 10 in an oscillating talbe 11, where the electrodes are stored temproarily. When a specified amt. of the electrodes are stored therein, the table 11 starts oscilating, so that the electrodes are conveyed by each piece rightward on the table 11 and are transferred by a sooping conveyor 12 onto a screening conveyor 13. Since the hopper 6 is made tiltable, the need for inclining the bottom surface thereof is eliminated, and the storage capacity of the hopper is increased; in addition, the biasing of the electrodes owing to the abrasion of the covering material of the electrodes is eliminated, whereby the electrodes are moved smoothly and productivity is improved.

Furthermore, the vibration table 11 installed following the delivery guide 8 is composed of, for example, an electromagnetic feeder that has been conventionally used as one of the feeders. This electromagnetic feeder uses an electromagnet as a vibrator to apply intermittent suction force to vibrate the table in the horizontal direction, and gradually moves the table by utilizing the inertia of the article placed on the upper surface. On the entrance side of the vibrating table 11, there is a small hopper l for temporarily storing a small amount of welding rods falling from the delivery guide 8.
An upper limit switch 27 and a lower limit switch 4 (or a proximity switch may also be used) are arranged above and below the hopper 10.

After the hopper 6 containing a predetermined amount of coated welding rods W is placed in a fixed position on the L-shaped support member 14 by the transport device, the tilting cylinder 15 is started to tilt the hopper 6 about the fulcrum 0. When the inclination angle reaches a sufficient angle to allow the dead weight of the rod to flow out, the inclination confirmation limit switch 4 operates to stop the cylinder 15. In this tilted state of the hopper 6, the gate 7
contacts the pinion 18 of the opening/closing device 9, and the outflow end of the bottom surface of the hopper 6 engages with the delivery kite 8. The gate opening/closing device 9 and the delivery guide 8 come into contact with the hopper 6 elastically by the action of the springs u and 16.

If the hopper side end of the vibrating table 11 is closed and the bars are fed from the small hopper 10 onto the table, the bars will be sequentially conveyed in the direction of the papermaking conveyor 12 as the table vibrates. In order to approximately balance the amount of rods discharged from the opening of the hopper 6 and the amount of rods fed by the vibration table 11, it is necessary to adjust the width of the opening by moving the gate 7 and adjust the frequency of vibration of the vibration table 11. Just go. When the amount of rods stored in the hopper 6 decreases, the pressing force of the rods decreases and the flow rate also decreases, so in this case, the cylinder 1

When all the rods are discharged from the hopper 6 yen (confirm by applying the limit switch), the rods in the small hopper IO also decrease and when they are completely discharged, the lower limit switch is activated.
The motor 19 of the gate opening/closing device 9 rotates in reverse to lower the gate 7 and close the opening. Then, the tilting cylinder 15 is also lowered to return the hopper 6 to its original horizontal position and replaced with another new hopper.
