Claims (1)
テアリングホイールにおいて、ステアリングホイールの
中心部に配設されて前記ボス部の前方を覆うカバーパッ
ドは略方形箱形状に形成される一方、カバーパッドの内
部に装着されるエネルギ吸収部材は、カバーパッドの前
板部内壁面に沿う前板と、カバーパッドの一方対向側板
部内壁面に沿う両側板とを有して断面でコの字状に形成
され、さらに、衝撃荷重がエネルギ吸収部材の前板及び
両側板と平行する方向に作用したときには、両側板が変
形し易くなるようにこれら両側板には所定数の貫通孔が
それぞれ形成され、しかも、両側板の両端部が中央部よ
り小さり力で変形するように、前記貫通孔の大きさ又は
配設ピッチが設定されたことを特徴とするエネルギ吸収
