Abstract

PURPOSE:To make possible automatic operation and to make unnecessary soldering operation by a method wherein the ends of leads of an electronic part with the lead are bent and attached to the terminals of a bobbin, before being welded thereto by ultrasonic welding. CONSTITUTION:An electronic part 9 such as a resistor and diode whose ends of leads 9' have been bent are attached to the terminals 7, 7' of a bobbin 6 on which a coil 8 has been wound. Subsequently, the contacts are connected together by ultrasonic welding. In so doing, because soldering is not employed, flux coating and cleansing processes become unnecessary, thus facilitating automation. Any shapes of terminals 7, 7' may be employed, provided that the terminals and the leads 9' can readily be welded together by ultrasonic welding. Moreover, ordinary welding in place of ultrasonic welding may be employed.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a lead wire joining method for fixing lead-equipped electronic components to a terminal-equipped bobbin, and enables the use of an ultrasonic welding method by forming the lead wires, which enables automation and production. The aim is to improve performance and quality.

As shown in FIG. 1, the conventional lead wire joining method is a soldering method, which is difficult to automate, and has drawbacks such as soldering defects such as smudges and stubble, and low productivity. The present invention solves the above-mentioned conventional drawbacks, and embodiments thereof will be described below with reference to FIGS. 2 to 7.

In FIGS. 2 to 6, 6 is a bobbin into which terminals 7 and 1 are press-fitted, and a coil 8 is wound in several layers. The terminals are wrapped at the beginning and end of the coil. Reference numeral 9 designates leaded electronic components such as resistors and diodes that are joined to terminals 7° and 7' of the bobbin 6 by ultrasonic welding. 1o is the terminal 7 and the lead wire 9' of the electronic component with leads.
11 is the block holding the terminal 7 and the lead wire 9'

'In the above configuration, the terminals 7 and 7' are square pins, and the lead wires 9' at both ends of the leaded electronic component 9 are formed at right angles, and the formed ends between the terminal 7 and the other terminal 1 are formed at right angles. By setting the lead wire 9', ultrasonic welding becomes possible, automation is possible, and soldering work can be eliminated. Therefore, since the lead wire joining method using ultrasonic welding does not use solder, the flux application process and cleaning process are unnecessary, reducing costs.

In the above embodiment, the terminal is made of a square bottle, but the lead wire side may be made of a square shape, as long as the terminal and the lead wire can be easily ultrasonically welded. Although the ultrasonic welding method is used as the joining method, a welding method may also be used.In short, any method other than soldering may be used as long as it can be automated.
