Abstract

PURPOSE:To sharply reduce the energy consumption by a method wherein the time of starting and stopping the supply of power to a time-information regulating unit incorporated in an electronic watch is set according to the maximum lost time and the maximum gained time in a day of the watch. CONSTITUTION:A time-informing sound from a radio or the like is detected by a microphone 1 and passed through an automatic gain control circuit 2, a band-pass filter 3 and a waveform shaping circuit 4 to operate a time-correcting circuit 7, via a counters 5 and 6, so as to make it correct a time. When the maximum time lost in a day of a watch circuit 8 is denoted as t1 seconds and the time whereat a time information is generated is denoted as T o'clock, a power is supplied to a time-information regulating unit 9 (t1+3) seconds before T o'clock, and the power is broken (t1+t2+3) seconds after the power is supplied, wherein t2 seconds denote the maximum time gained in a day. Accordingly, the time-informing sound can be caught with the minimum consumption of energy, which can make efficient a small-sized apparatus such as a wristwatch.

A detailed explanation of the present invention will be given below based on the drawings.
! l! FIG. 1 shows an example of a configuration diagram of an electronic timepiece that can adjust the time using a time signal and is used in the present invention. A time signal generated by a radio or television is detected by a microphone 1 and sent as an electric signal to an automatic gain control circuit 2. This automatic gain control circuit 2 controls both large and small signals to a certain signal voltage value. The signal is then sent to a band pass filter 5, where the signal component and noise component are separated.
and 880HgK, but if you set the pass signal frequency of band pass filter 3 to 440) 1z, it will pass through time signal 11 band pass filter S, or all other frequencies of noise will be here. The 440 Hz time signal sound that has passed through 0 and is cut is converted into a rectangular wave through the waveform shaping circuit 4 and sent to counters 5 and 6 with iB run. For example, the time signal sound of the Japan Broadcasting Corporation is made up of 440 Hz and 880 H2 as mentioned above, and its waveform is as shown in FIG. That is, waveforms a, c, eH

The interval is α9 seconds. It is carried out at time 10 on the hour information. If the reduced-format signal is now sent to the 44-ary counter 5 through the waveform shaping circuit 4, the waveform a ends and the 3-ary counter 6 is set to 1 at the end of the waveform. Similarly, when signals of waveforms C, .

Time correction circuit 7 #2 After the carry signal of the 3-digit counter is set to 1, wait fc for the period of waveform f, that is, α9 seconds, and then send a time correction command to clock circuit 8 and perform time correction. Although it is theoretically possible to adjust the time using a time signal, it is clear that if this system is incorporated into a small device such as a wristwatch, it will become a major obstacle in terms of energy consumption. That is, if the next system configured with the time signal regulation s9 is kept in constant operation, a considerable amount of power will be consumed, and it cannot be installed in a small device such as a wristwatch, which has a small energy source. It is the intention of the present invention to overcome this limitation. That is, the time signal sounds only once every hour, and the time required is only 5 seconds and 1 degree.

Therefore, operating the time signal regulation circuit s9 at other times is meaningless and a waste of energy.

Ideally, the time signal regulation circuit s9 should operate only when the time signal sound is being generated, but this is clearly not the case. Therefore, the power supply time and the conduction supply stop time to the time signal regulation s9 are set as follows. gold clock circuit 8 is 1
The maximum delay time in days is t't1 second, and the time signal generation time is 1 second.
From 7 o'clock when clockwise u8 is displayed (tl+3
) seconds before, power is supplied to the time signal regulation section 90 circuit and the time signal is produced. - The maximum time that the old clock circuit 8 advances in one day is 1. If it is seconds, power is supplied to s9 according to the hour 111 standard, and then (ti+tt +s) the power supply is cut off to the 8th lab.

In this way, the time signal sound can be captured and energy consumption is minimal. Naturally, the above conditions are minimum conditions, and in reality, an appropriate margin must be provided. Further, if it is assumed that the time signal regulation is not necessarily performed once a day, the values of tl and t may be set with more margin depending on the situation.

As described above, if the power supply to the time signal regulation s9 is limited to only a certain period of time, it is expected that the effect of overcoming energy consumption, which is a major constraint on small devices such as wristwatches, can be expected.
