Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a bearing seal attach to one metal mold after molding of the bearing seal, by forming an outwardly extended tapered portion or portions at the shoulder portion or portions formed at one side or both sides of a flat rubber surface. CONSTITUTION:A tapered portion or portions 1 are formed at a should portion or portions at one side or both sides of a flat rubber surface of a bearing seal 2 having a seal lip. When the bearing seal shaped as above is molded by use of an upper and a lower two metal molds, the tapered portion 1 is fitted in a recess formed in one of the two metal molds for shaping the tapered portion 1. Therefore, when the molds are moved away from each other, the bearing seal is positively attached to the mold that is formed with the recess. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to automatize the molding process in a reliable and correct manner.

Conventionally, to mold a bearing seal, two molding molds, upper and lower, are used, synthetic rubber and core metal are supplied between the molds, and the molding is performed by vulcanization at an appropriate temperature and time. After vulcanization, the mold is opened and the bearing seal is removed from the mold. If the bearing seal is attached to one side at this time, it can be easily removed automatically using a vacuum mechanism or magnet mechanism. However, due to mold precision, temperature differences, and other factors, some of the sheets inevitably stuck to the opposite mold, and had to be removed by hand.

The present invention eliminates these drawbacks and provides a bearing seal structure and its molding method for reliably fixing the bearing seal to one mold and facilitating automatic removal using a vacuum or magnet mechanism. be.

To explain the present invention based on the drawings, first, Béhar (2
), a tapered portion (1) is provided at the shoulder portion at one end or both ends of the rubber flat end in the rubber portion between the seal fitting portion into the bearing and the seal lip. As shown in the drawing, a portion of the taper has a tapered shape that widens outward and tapers toward the sealing side. Part of this taper (1)
The size and height are optional, the size of the bearing seal,

The present invention relates to a bearing seal having the above-mentioned shape, regardless of the shape of the seal, which has a core bar (3) extending toward the inside of the 〒th m bearing, or having a core bar (3) extending toward the outside of the bearing as shown in Fig. 2. ), it is sufficient to provide the tapered portion (1) at the flat end where the rubber on the opposite side is exposed, and it is provided at a location that has no bearing on the sealing performance. In addition,
Parts of the taper may be provided on both shoulders as shown in FIG. 1, or may be provided on one of the shoulders, and the optimum taper may be arbitrarily selected depending on the shape, size, thickness, etc. of the bearing seal.

Of course, the concave groove is a tapered part (1) provided in the bearing seal (2). By using the mold provided with the above-mentioned concave groove and a conventional paired mold,
In the process of molding a bearing seal, a desired core metal and synthetic rubber are supplied between the upper and lower molds, and when the mold is opened after vulcanization molding, a bearing seal (2) is formed in the groove provided in the mold. The tapered part (1) of the bearing seal (1) is fitted (because the synthetic rubber material enters the gap of this groove part at the same time as molding), and the molded bearing seal (
2), the tapered portion (1) and the groove portion of the mold ensure that the entire portion is attached to the mold provided with the groove portion.

At this time, it is also possible to easily remove the flakes that appear during molding. The molded bearing seal attached to one of the molds in this manner can be easily removed using air suction (vacuum) or a magnetic mechanism, making automation possible. There is no need for the bearing seal to stick to both molds as in the past (as it is definitely attached to one mold, there is no need for manual intervention to remove it). This makes it possible to automate the molding process reliably and accurately, which greatly contributes to speeding up the work.

As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to obtain a very excellent molding method that contributes to automation and improves work efficiency in molding bearing seals with a simple structure and mechanism.
