Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a C.I.Reactive Blue dye having remarkably suppressed dust scattering tendency, by using a monohydric alcohol ester of a higher fatty acid and a higher fatty acid ester of polyethylene glycol sorbitan as dust preventing agents. CONSTITUTION:The dye composition composed of (A) 95-99.95wt% C.I.Reactive Blue 19 and (B) 0.05-5pts.wt. of a dust preventing agent composed of (B-1) a monhydric alkohol ester of a higher fatty acid and (B-2) a higher fatty acid ester of polyethylene glycol sorbitan, wherein the weight ratio (B-1):(B-2) is (50-95):(50-5). The component (B-1) is preferably a 1-18C monohydric alcohol ester of a 10-24C fatty acid, and the component (B-2) is preferably the compound of formula (l+m+n is 10-30; R is 7-23C alkyl).

In many cases, dyes that are commonly used are in the form of fine powder, and the fine powder or dust is scattered during dye manufacturing, packaging, packing, and dyeing textile products, etc., and can cause damage to the human body and work clothes. In addition to polluting the environment, it may also contaminate some textile products, rendering them completely worthless.

By the way, the performance required for a dye dust scattering prevention agent is, of course, first and foremost that it is highly effective in preventing the generation of dye dust, but it is also important that the effect lasts for a long period of time. A necessary requirement is that the dye and anti-scattering agent can be mixed easily and uniformly.

However, some dust scattering preventive agents may have an adverse effect on the dissolution and dispersion properties or dyeability of dyes even when mixed with a small amount of dye. However, dust scattering preventive agents do not have these adverse effects. It is also required.

However, as mentioned above, a large number of compounds have been proposed as dust scattering prevention agents, but in general, compounds that are insoluble in water have a large dust scattering prevention effect and are long lasting, but dyes are dissolved in water in dyeing factories. When the dye solution is dispersed and 13 o'clock, it floats on top of the dye solution and causes so-called oil floating. When pad dyeing is performed using such a dye solution, this oil adheres to the fiber surface and the dye solution does not stick to that area, leaving it white. There is a problem that it becomes mottled.

Although water-soluble dust scattering preventive agents do not cause such problems during dyeing, they generally have a low dust scattering prevention effect, and the resulting product may solidify during storage.

In order to complement the advantages and disadvantages of these water-insoluble dust scattering preventive agents and water-soluble dust scattering preventive agents, emulsifying and dispersing agents can be added to these mixtures and water-insoluble dust scattering preventive agents. Attempts have also been made to prevent oil floating.

Table 1 The method of adding the anti-scattering agent of the present invention is to mix it with the dye wet cake, to spray it on the dye wet cake in the form of a mist, or to spray it simultaneously when spray drying the dye solution or slurry. This is done by stirring and spraying dry powdered dye in the form of a mist.

The dye composition of the present invention thus obtained is in a wet state, hardly any dye dust is formed, and there is no oil scum even when the dye is dissolved or dispersed in water. It provides uniform dyeing in exhaust dyeing, continuous dyeing, semi-continuous dyeing (cold pad patch method, etc.) and has extremely good printing uniformity in printing.

It is surprising (9) that only by using (b-1) and (b-2) above in the present invention, favorable performance without so-called soapstock can be achieved. It is extremely noteworthy that the absence of any of (b-2) or the substitution of any of them by other analogs does not achieve the objective.
