Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain simply and exactly the sealing effect for steel tube sheet piles by a method in which the end portions of anticorrosive covers attached to each steel tube of the steel tube sheet piles, facing the sea surface, are sealed up by a sealing member pressed by bolts. CONSTITUTION:When attaching anticorrosive covers 2 and 2' to steel tube sheet piles erected horizontally through couplers 3, two cover fitting metals 4 of a pipy shape, whose outside is provided with slits are attached to the steel tube 1 in parallel along the axial direction of the steel tube 1. The anticorrosive covers 2 and 2' are formed into a bent cross section along the steel tube 1 by attaching a coupling part 5 to be inserted into said fitting metals 4 to its both ends. Of these, the anticorrosive cover 2' is of an angular sheet pile form whose widthwise dimension is different from the cover 2 except for other parts. Then, a sealing member 7 is interposed between the covers 2 and 2' and then clamped with bolt 10 on the plate 8 by the nut 11.

When protecting steel pipe sheet piles constructed in ports, etc., a widely used method is to cover them with a corrosion-resistant cover. When installing the cover, there are two methods: (11) attaching a cylindrical cover to each steel pipe one by one; (2) covering one side of the steel pipe sheet pile with a continuous cover; (3) attaching one cylindrical cover to one side of each steel pipe.
There are methods of attaching panel-shaped covers one by one. (1
) and (3), each cover is separate, so sealing between adjacent covers becomes a problem. The present invention aims to provide a seal structure suitable for (3).

This seal structure consists of a seal member, two parts sandwiching it from both sides.
The cover installation consists of two plates, bolts and nuts that pass through them, and is fixed to the steel pipe. One plate is hooked onto a metal fitting, and the sealing member is pressed against each cover from the outside using a nut. The seal structure of the present invention having such characteristics will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 1 shows a plan view of a steel pipe 1 to which a panel-type corrosion-resistant cover is attached. Steel pipe sheet piles are not always lined up in a straight line, and depending on where they are installed, they may be bent as shown in this diagram. The cover 2' that covers the corner copper tube naturally requires a large area to be removed. Each steel pipe 1 is connected by a joint 3,
There are various shapes of joints other than those shown in this figure. Two metal fittings 4 are fixed to the steel pipe 1 to attach the cover, and the metal fittings 4 have a pipe shape with a split outside (see Figure 2). On the other hand, at both ends of the corrosion-resistant cover 2, there are two metal fittings 4 fixed at two places. Retaining member 5
are respectively attached, and the cover 2 is locked by inserting the enlarged diameter portion of each retaining member 5 into the metal fitting 4 from above. Usually, several spacers 6 are interposed between the corrosion-resistant cover 2 and the steel pipe 1.

The seal structure of the present invention consists of a seal member 7, two plates 8, 9, a bolt 10, and a nut 11, as shown in an enlarged view in FIG. The seal member 7 has approximately the same length as the corrosion-resistant cover 2, and is usually made of rubber. Further, it is desirable that the cross-sectional shape of the sealing member 7 is trapezoidal or wedge-shaped. The plate 8 is in contact with the two metal fittings 4, 4, and the plate 9
is in contact with the outer surface of the seal member 7. Since the bolt 10 passes through the plate 8°9 and the sealing member 7, when the nut 11 is tightened, the sealing member 7 closes on each cover 2, 2'.
press against. If the bolt 10 is fixed to the plate 8 in advance and the sealing member 7, plate 9, and nut 11 are made integrally in advance, it is only necessary to insert them and tighten the nut 11 at the site. If the seal member 7 is long, the number of bolts 10 and nuts 11 may be increased. For the outer plate 9 a corrosion-resistant material is used, for example F-R-P.

There is no problem because the seal 12 is fixed to the lower end of the corrosion-proof cover 2 as shown in FIG. 5, but seawater enters the joint 3 from below the cover 2° 2'. Since the end of the cover does not extend to the joint 3 and the steel pipe surface in the vicinity, if it is desired to complete these parts, a seal plate 13 as shown in FIG. 3 is attached.

A metal plate that fits the joint 3 and the steel pipe surface may be welded, but the shapes of the gaps between the steel pipes are not necessarily the same. In such a case, the seal plate 13 is divided into three parts as shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the left and right seal plates 13m and 13b are first welded, and the gap 14 between both plates is filled with the third seal plate 13e. Just block it. If this work is carried out at the beginning of the corrosion prevention work, by placing the corrosion prevention covers 2, 2' and the seal member 7 thereon, a water-stopping effect can be obtained from below.
