Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve cleaning performance, to extend the life of a cleaning blade, and to reduce the size of a device by forming a demagnetizing head and the cleaning blade in one body, and carrying out demagnetization and cleaning at the same time. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnet 1 as a demagnetizing member and a blade 2 as a cleaning member are formed in one body. When residual toner 4 on a magnetic recording medium 3 moves in a conveyance direction as shown by an arrow 6, the toner 4 separates from the recording medium 3 and sticks around the magnet by the magnetic force of the electromagnet 1. Then, when the toner 4 is deposited around the blade 2, the magnet 1 is powered down and the toner is attracted and collected by a blower 7. Thus, the magnetic field of the electromagnet 1 is utilized for both demagnetization and toner cleaning, so the cleaning performance is improved and the burden on the blade 2 is relieved. Consequently, the life of the blade is prolonged and the deamgnetizing device becomes never dirty, thereby facilitating the maintenance.

Conventionally, a magnetic latent image is formed by image-wise magnetizing a magnetic recording medium, which is then developed using magnetic toner, electrostatically or magnetically transferred to plain paper, etc., and then heated to form a semi-immersive image. In the so-called magnetography technique #I, which fixes by applying pressure, etc., in order to use the magnetic recording medium for writing, it is necessary to transfer vcjA onto the magnetic recording medium without being completely transferred.
I need to clean the ivy toner. Further, in order to form a magnetic latent image after cleaning, it is necessary to demagnetize the already formed magnetic latent image.

Conventionally proposed cleaning methods include one method in which a brush made of brushed flexible fibers is rotated at high speed while mechanically contacting the magnetic latent image carrier to remove residual a-type toner. ? There are methods for contacting and scraping off materials such as ``.'' For demagnetization, an electromagnetic head or a permanent magnet is used.

In such a conventional eraser W4 device 11, it is unreasonable to expect a cleaning performance close to 100% because it uses mechanical contact, and it is difficult to expect residual toner clumps on the medium! Due to ξ, etc., it is seen that poor cleaning occurs. Furthermore, cleaning brushes and blades tend to deteriorate, making regular maintenance such as inspection and replacement of such consumables essential. In addition, residual toner that could not be cleaned due to poor cleaning adheres to the electromagnetic head and permanent magnet of the degaussing device, which causes the degaussing device itself to become dirty, making it necessary to clean this device regularly. Extra hassle occurs.

As shown in FIG. 1, the demagnetizing and cleaning device of the present invention has an electromagnet 1 as a demagnetizing member and a plate r2 as a cleaning member integrated into one body. The residual toner 4 remaining on the magnetic recording medium without being completely transferred moves m@ onto the magnetic recording medium 3 along the conveying direction 6. Magnetic latent image, R turn 5 is erased WB
For example, in the electromagnet 1 which is S material,
As shown in the issue (DO demagnetization is performed, the 1i1 pattern becomes a state of unidirectional magnetization and is apparently demagnetized. At the same time, the residual toner 4 is attracted from the magnetic recording medium by the magnetic attraction of the electromagnet and the magnet is In this case, the demagnetization method using alternating current has the same effect. Therefore, the burden of residual toner on the blade 2 is reduced, and demagnetization is performed at the same time.

The blade 2 is attached to the side surface of the electromagnet 10 and is in mechanical contact with the magnetic recording medium 3, and serves to scrape off toner from the medium. When toner has accumulated around the electromagnet and the root, the power to the electromagnet is turned off, the attractive force acting between the toner and the electromagnet is extinguished, and the toner is sucked and collected by the blower 7.

According to the device of the present invention, the magnetic field of the electromagnet is used for both demagnetization and toner cleaning, and since it performs both functions at the same time, the burden on the blade is reduced and the time required for inspection and replacement is reduced. can be extended. Also, when toner builds up, turn off the power to the electromagnet to remove the magnetic field that makes the toner stick, free the toner, and then use a blower to clean the toner that has stuck to the electromagnet as a degaussing device. There is no need to do this in %.

This blower is disposed facing the blade with at least the electromagnet in between, so there is no worry that the toner will fly up when it is sucked (stains from it) and get around to the writing head side. When repeating only transfer, it can be attached and detached by means not shown. The mechanism is a trap so that the cleaning/erasing device of the present invention can be separated from the recording medium.

As a result, there was no case where the previous image was replaced with a new image K due to poor degaussing, and even after printing 20,000 sheets, there were no phenomena such as streaks or an increase in the ground density that appeared to be caused by poor cleaning. 20,000
After printing a sheet, I turned off the power to the electromagnet and turned on the blower to clean off the toner stuck to the magnet. The reason why it is not necessary to operate the blower during such a long cycle is that the toner scraped off by the blade or accumulated on the electromagnet falls downward into the center of the image forming cycle, as shown in FIG. This is because the waste is collected in unused collection equipment. After that, I stopped the blower, turned the power back on to the electromagnet, and resumed printing, but [Even after printing 10,000 sheets, there was no change.IIIiIgI! I was also able to get a better one. At that time, the blades were not replaced, but the original image quality was maintained, and the blades had a total lifetime of more than 30,000 sheets. However,
When the blade and the degaussing head were attached separately to the magnetic recording device shown in No. 61 using the conventional method and printed, no defective degaussing phenomenon was observed, but after printing 1000 sheets, there was a backlash that was thought to be caused by the toner cloud. An increase in ground concentration was observed.

Therefore, when I replaced the blade, cleaned the entire cleaning device, and performed a quality print, the background was reduced and the original quality was restored.

By integrating the demagnetizing head and the cleaning blade, the device of the present invention can perform demagnetization and cleaning at the same time. At this time, the magnetic field used for degaussing attracts the residual toner on the magnetic recording medium, thereby improving cleaning performance and minimizing causes of background increase such as toner cloud.
