Abstract

PURPOSE:To lower the running cost of a ventilating apparatus, by employing such an arrangement that ventilation is carried out according to the density of contaminant contained in the air in a room to be ventilated. CONSTITUTION:A dust-density signal transmitter 11 comprises, for instance, a light projector and a light receiver disposed in a room to be ventilated. The transmitter 11 detects the density of dust from the rate of light received by the light receiver and produces a voltage signal of the dust density. The output signal of the transmitter 11 is afforded to a V/I converter 21, in which the voltage signal is converted into a current signal. The output signal of the converter 21 is in turn afforded to a dust density/air- flow rate calculating means 22, which calculates the air-flow rate from the current signal given from the converter 21 by using the density of dust in the room to be ventilated as a setting density. The air-flow rate thus obtained is furnished to a means 31 for determining the air feed rate of a fan, which converts the output value of the means 22 into a value corresponding to the air discharge rate and gives an output signal to a means 32 for determining the blade angle of the fan. The means 32 in turn determines the blade angle of the fan. The means 32 in turn determines the blade angle of the fan from the output signal of the means 31, whereby the room can be ventilated at a required air-flow rate.
