Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a pinch roller inexpensive to manufacture and having excellent tape forwarding performance by a method wherein the outer surface of a boss is made convexly and a cylindrical rubber roller with a uniform thickness is fitted onto the boss in such a manner that the surface parted from mold of the rubber roller faces outward. CONSTITUTION:The boss 3 is formed so that its outer surface 32 is convex with a suitable curve. On the other hand, in order to obtain the rubber roller 4, at first a rubber cylinder with a proper thickness is made by means of metallic mold or the like. Secondly, its surface is ground until the roller 4 with a predetermined thickness is obtained. After that, the rubber roller 4 is turned inside out or the inner surface contacted with the mold goes outside and the ground outer surface goes inside. The rubber roller 4 turned inside out is fitted onto the outer surface of the boss 3. にするために外面21は適宜な半径をもつ凸面になって

ため、ピンチローラの製造コストを低くすることができ

研摩作業によって外面21を精度の高い凸面にすること
ができず、ピンチローラの精度を高くすることができな
い。更に研摩後の外面21上には微視的には無数の傷が
ついており、ピンチローラを長期間使用した場合には外
面21の摩耗度が部分により異なったり、ピンチローラ
とテープとの圧接力が部位により異なるなどのために上
記精度を高くすることができない。従って、使用時の所
謂ワウフラッタ−を小さくすることができずテープの送
り出し量を一定にすることが難しい。

の接触面を凸面とし、またこのボス上に平ゴムを研摩し
ていない面を表面にして嵌着させることを要旨とする。

した面を裏とする。そしてゴムローラ4をボス6の外面
52に嵌着させればゴムローラ4の外面41は金型に接
していた面なのでその表面はつるつるの所謂型上り面と
なる。そしてボス3の表面32は精度の高い凸面となっ
ており、ゴムローラ4 ノ1lFffl、ゴムローラ4
の表面41を研摩する必要はない。尚、当然のことなが
らゴムローラをボスに嵌着前に研摩する必要のない場合
はゴムローラを裏返さずにボスに嵌着させてもよい。

に均一に摩耗するのでワウフラッタ−を極めて小さくす
ることができ、テープの送出し量を一定に保つことがで
きる。
