Abstract

PURPOSE:To allow the removal of projections without giving polishing damages, such as scratches, to the surface of the magnetic disk medium by forming a protective film consisting of SiO2 on the surface of the magnetic film on a substrate, then subjecting the projections on the surface of the protective film to finishing by using a polishing means. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic disk medium 1 is formed with the magnetic film for recording data on the substrate and the protective film 3 consisting of the SiO2 is formed on the surface thereof. 体表面にスクラッチ等の研磨損傷を与えることなく突起
を除去できる効果がある。
