この発明は、長尺な筒の溶接方法に関する。□第1図に
示した長尺な筒Aは、クレーンのプーム筒全示すが薄板
の長尺な側板1,1′の上下縁a、 bに夫々上下板3
,4を配設してなり、これら側板1、(と上下板3,4
は溶接線P、、P、、烏、3でL2
示した通りに溶接されている。そしてこの溶接に際して
は、側板1′ヲ上下板3,4に対してクランプ(仮付は
等)した状態にした後に、側板1を上下板3,4に溶接
線R,Rにて示したとおり同時に溶接を行う。続いて側
板1′ヲ上下板3,4に溶接線Pg、 Paにて示した
とお夛に同時に溶接全行うものであるが、この溶接時に
は溶接部での母材及び溶着金属の凝固時の収縮に伴い側
板】、1′の長手方向に波状の歪が生じる。この歪現象
を側板1について詳しく述べれば次のようになる。すな
わち、側板1のうち、溶接線p、、 Psの箇所及び
その近傍では部材自身の収縮現象が起きるが、溶接線P
i、Psから離隔した中央部においては、そこの部材自
身は熱形*’e受けないために収縮せず、上記収縮現象
に伴い長手方向の圧縮力を受けるものであるために長手
方向に波状の歪が生じるものである0
そして、この波状の歪を取り除くために従来は、溶接後
ハンマー打ち作業あるいは加熱作業の手作業全豪するも
