Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an engaging device with separation alarming means being simple in structure and easy for opration, by a method wherein the engaging device is composed of a pair of engaging members utilizing a permanent magnet and a ferromagnetic body, and a lead switch to be energized and closed is installed to lateral side of the attaching engaging member. CONSTITUTION:A ferromagnetic plate 2 is attached to one pole surface of a permanent magnet 1 and covered integrally by a non-magnetic case 5, and a washer 6 having a leg 6(a) is attached to the plate 2 by a ferromagnetic lever 2(a). In a male engaging member also a washer 6 is attached to a ferromagnetic plate 3 by a ferromagnetic lever 3(a). A lead switch 4 installed to lateral side of engaging portion is not at all subjected to magnetic line of force in the engaging state. When the plate 3 and the magnet 1 are separated from each other, magnetic line of force comes out of the engaging device thereby the lead switch 4 is energized for alarming. When the engaging device is used to opening surface as engaging means of a cover of a handbag or a fancy case, it is effective as a device being small in the number of parts and simple in operation without failure.
