Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform casting free from leakage of molten metal and production of fins without using any heavy weight by using vertically moving rods which move by intersecting their upper parts orthogonally in dismounting of clamping means for molds used for casting on a cooling conveyor and mounting the same to molds which are not yet charged with molten metal on a charging conveyor. CONSTITUTION:A machine base 3 is provided orthogonally above a cooling conveyor line 1 and a charging conveyor line 2 which are provided in parallel. A carriage 6 provided with vertically moving rods 8 is run thereon. When a mold 15 which is charged with molten metal moves on the line 1, the carriage 6 in the upper part moves to above the mold and removes mold clamping means 16 by operating the rod 8 with a cylinder 7. In this state, the carriage moves to above the line 2, and mounts the clamping means to a combined mold 15' which is not yet charged with molten metal and is conveyed on the same conveyor line, then the carriage clamps the top and bottom molds firmly and transfers the mold to a charging site.
