Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve an efficiency of power transmission by linking wth a power transmission one of symmetrical left and right axles, which weighs lighter than the other with respect to a center axis of a power unit which consists of an engine and the transmission, thereby increasing a contact pressure of each wheel with the ground.
CONSTITUTION: An engine 1 makes up a power unit along with a transmission case 3 which contains a power transmission mechanism 2 behind the engine. Because the unit 4 is displaced to one side from a center axis X-X, that is, to the lower side in the drawing, the lower part of the unit weighs relatively heavier. A couple of axles 6 respectively having symmetrical left and right rear wheels 5 are joined by a differential mechanism 7 behind the unit 4. One of the axles 6 is linked with the transmission mechanism 2. As the driving axle 6 to be linked with the transmission mechansim 2, the relatively heavier one of said unit 4, that is, the lower side one is selected and fixed to a gear 2c of the output end of the gear mechanism 2b.
