Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a precipitation-hardened type stainless steel strip which is prevented from curving in work while hardness and spring characteristics are maintained, by controlling heating temperature and heating time within adequate ranges in an aging treatment of the precipitation-hardened stainless steel. CONSTITUTION:A precipitation-hardened type stainless steel strip is heat-treated into a solid solution, and cold-worked at a >=50% working rate. Then, a continuous aging treatment is performed at 500-700 deg.C for 0.5-10min. The treatment conditions within those range improve the hardness of the steel strip to hardness required fro a thin-plate spring, etc., and reduce residual stress enough to prevent curvature in work such as punching. This method allows the aging treatment in a short time and suppresses the manufacture cost low.
