Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce fine silver powder in good yields by dropping mixed solns. of specific composition consisting of an aq. hydrogen peroxide soln. and an aq. silver nitrate soln. into an aq. NaOH or KOH soln.
CONSTITUTION: This method consists in forming precipitate of silver hydroxide or silver oxide by means of an aq. NaOH or KOH soln. from an aq. silver nitrate soln., reducing the same with hydrogen peroxide and filtering and drying the resultant silver powder. In this case, mixed solns. prepd. by mixing an aq. hydrogen peroxide soln. of 1W5% concn. and an aq. silver nitrate soln. of 30W 300g/l concns. at 2:1W1:4 ratios by volume with a 0.2W5 normal aq. NaOH or KOH soln. are dropped. Then, the fine silver powder having about 0.1W 0.2μ grain sizes suited for print coated wiring is produced.
