Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a composition which is not separated at a high temp. and useful for preventing dust generation in handling ore. coal or the like, by compounding a specific anionic surfactant and a polyol in a polyoxyethylene nonionic surfactant.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. polyethylene type nonionic surfactant (e.g; polyoxyethylene octyl ether), 3W30pts.wt. sulfonate type or a carboxylate type anionic surfactant (e.g.; Na or K salt of nonylbenzenesulfonic acid, stearic acid or the like) and 10W100pts.wt. di-to pentavalent polyol with MW of 500 or less (e.g.; ethylene glycol) are compounded to obtain a dust preventing composition. This composition is used as an aqueous solution with a concn. of 1wt% or less and sprayed on an object to be treated in a place where dust is easily generated in a ratio of 1W10pts.wt. against 100pts.wt. thereto to prevent dust generation.
