PURPOSE:To manufacture a heat sensitive recording sheet, excellent in head abrasion resistance, in head matching, in dimensional stability and the like, having styrene methacrylic acid copolymer contained in a supporting matter including pulp, sizing agent and paper strength reinforcing additive. CONSTITUTION:Pulp[needle leaf pulp and broad-leaf pulp are mixed at the rate of 10-50wt%. 90-50% to the total pulp weight, the water filtration grade is preferably regulated to 300-400ml in C.S.F.], sizing agent (ex.; paraffin wax etc.) at the preferable rate of 0.5-20%, paper strength reinforcing additive (ex.; melamine resin etc.) at the preferably rate of 0.3-2.0% and styrene methacrylic acid copolymer (preferably in the form of fine grains having grain diameters 0.1-30mu) at the rate of 1-15% are mixed and manufacture paper to obtain a supporting matter.
