Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform reliable fuel injection control in an electro-magnetic actuator for operating an injection pump by disposing a fixed core with an exciting coil around a movable core.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel supply pump 12 is turned by a drive shaft 11 to supply a fuel for a pump housing 13. The fuel is squeezed to an injection nozzle 6 through a suction hole 18, a compression chamber 17 and an outlet hole 19. An effective stroke of a plunger 12 depends on positions of a spill ring 22, which is controlled by a rotary core type actuator 3. A fixed core 33 with an exciting coil 34 is disposed around a movable core 32 and provided with a spring 35 which generates a restoring torque. Because only the exciting coil 34 around the fixed core 33 has to be fed with a current, reliable fuel injection control may be performed.
