Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve effective use of expensive 1H delay line, by realizing the function of the seperation of luminance and chroma components, and vertical direction profile emphasis of luminance component with the same comb type filter. CONSTITUTION:An NTSC signal fed to a terminal 1 is separated to each signal at a comb type filter 2. Output signals of 1H delay lines 3,4 are summed at an adder 5 and filtered at an HPF 6 to obtain a luminance signal high frequency component without carrier chrominance signal component. On the other hand, an output signal of the delay line 3 is filtered at an LPF 8 to be a luminance signal low frequency component. Further, the output signal of the delay lines 3,4 and the input signal are summed at an adder 9, filtered at an LPF 10 to obtain a vertical profile signal of the luminance signal. They are summed at an adder 12 to obtain the luminance signal emphasizing the profile and eliminating the carrier chrominance signal at the output terminal 13. On the other hand, the output of the adder 9 is filtered at an HPF 14 and a carrier chrominance signal rejected with the luminance signal is obtained at an output terminal 15.
