Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce temperature rise of a stator coil in a vehicle use AC generator and also to provide sufficient cooling to a rectifying unit by a method wherein No.1∼No.4 ventilating holes are built, and cooling air taken in from No.1 holes are discharged from No.2 holes, and part of it is discharge from No.3 holes along with cooling air introduced from No.4 hole via a gap around a rotor and the stator.
CONSTITUTION: The plural number of No.4 holes 22 are built over the whole circumference of a cylinderical section 2a of a front bracket 2, and the plural number of No.1 holes 23 are made over the whole circumference of the bracket 2, at places neighboring a rectifying unit 6 to cool the unit, and No.2 holes 32 are built on a cylindrical section 3a of a rear bracket 3. Further, a shielding plate 9, which is fixed to the braket 2, is to protect the rectifying unit 6 from air heated by radiation from a stator core 4a and a stator coil 7, and a centrifugal fan 10 for ventilation of air is, at the whole, fitted to the rear side edge of a rotor 5. With this structure, temperature rise of the stator coil can be suppressed, and the rectifying unit can be fully cooled.
