Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a photoreceptor having minute projected and hollow areas on its surface, by polishing the photoreceptor surface by means of a metallic wire of tungsten, molybdenum, etc. of a fiber brush having a <=20mum diameter. CONSTITUTION:An organic photoreceptor uses an organic conductive material such as the poly-N-vinyl carbazole, disazo pigment, etc. The polishing material uses preferably the metallic wire such as tungsten, molybdenum, nickel, stainless steel, etc. or a brush of the carbon fabric, nylon fabric, etc. with <=20mum diameter. The angle theta of contact between the wire (or brush) 1 and the surface 2 of the photoreceptor is set 0-90 deg. (preferably 60-90 deg.). At the same time, the bend of the tip, i.e., the distance (d) between the tip and the center line of the wire (or brush) 1 is set 0-3mm. (preferably set in a range of 0.5-1.5mm.).
