Abstract
PURPOSE:To save the adjusting trouble of sample and also, to detect quickly by a simple apparatus, by utilizing the fact that lanthanide diphthalocyanine complex is discolored by a reversible oxidation-reduction reaction for detecting gaseous hydrogen chloride. CONSTITUTION:Chloroform solution of a lanthanide diphthalocyanine complex 3 is dropped to a neutral porous white color carrier 2 such as alumina, silica gel and is dried and then, saie carrier 2 is maintained on a substrate 1 such as a glass plate, paper. In case of using the paper, one layer combined the substrate with the carrier may be used. When the gaseous hydrogen chloride is touched with said complex, the complex is turned to red by oxidation and the discimination is carried out easily. The complex turned to red is returned to an original condition in blue quickly by gaseous NH3 and is reused.
