Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform dehydration treatment of foreign materials in sludge with good performance with an inexpensive device by combining a belt press system and a roller press system in a sludge dehydrator. CONSTITUTION:An endless belt 6 between a lower roller 4 on a stand 16 and an idle roller 5 of an axial center heigher than that of said roller is rotated in a direction A bymeans of a driving mechanism 21. A tension roller 7 is pressed to the belt 6 with the pressure spring 8 and side pulling spring 9 in the guide 13 of a pressure adjusting mechanism 19, and is rotated loosely in a direction B. The conveyed screening residues fall onto the top of the belt 6 from a hopper 10, and are subjected to the primary dehydration while gnawed into between the roller 7 and a backing plate 14 on the rear in the sag part of the belt. Thence, they are subjected to secondary dehydration between the roller 7 and the roller 4, and are discharged through an outlet chute 11. The screening residues stuck on the surface of the roller 7 are scraped off with a scraper 12.
