Abstract
PURPOSE:To catch the tip of a sheet surely and enable stable coiling in manufacuring and coiling metallic sheet by molten metal quenching method by providing a catching part on the outer peripheray of a coiling wheel. CONSTITUTION:When master alloy is molten in a crucible and a specified temperature is attained, the pressure in the crucible is raised and molten metal 2 is blown on the outer periphery of a cooling roll 3 rotating at a high speed through a slit-like hole provided in the lower part of the crucible. The molten metal 2 is stretched by the cooling roll 3 and quenched to become an amorphous thin band 4. The thin band 4 is stripped from the cooling roll 3 by a stripping nozzle 5. The tip of stripped thin band 4 is caught by a coiling wheel 6 provided with slit-like holes on the outer periphery. Thus, coiling progresses smoothly.
