Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent generation of noises at the time of a car starting by providing the synchronized meshing mechanism with a energizing means to be in operation in idling and thereby eliminating backlash of the speed change gear at the time of idling.
CONSTITUTION: When a coupling sleeve 38 is shifted, a balkring 39 or 40 makes slide contact with a conical surface 42 and applies thereby a braking effect, and a further shift will consolidate the main shaft with a speed change gear 34 or 35. At this time a press pin 44 is set in a cup ring sleeve 38, and because this pin 44 works at the time of idling to press the balk ring 40 against the cone 42 with the aid of a spring 47 and a ball 48, backlash is eliminated. Because the ball 48 is brought up outwards by centrifugal force while the main shaft is in rotation even through the speed change gear is set in the neutral position temporarily during running, no backlash elimination is made.
