Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A thiazolyl azo dye of formulaI, wherein R1 is alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkenyl, aryl or aralkyl; R2 is H, amino, lower alkyl or phenyl; R3 is lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or furfuryloxy.
EXAMPLE: A compd. of formula II.
USE: A monoazo dye for dyeing a hydrophobic fiber such as a polyester or cellulose ester fiber in clear and fast bluish red.
PREPARATION: A compd. of formulaIis prepd. by the diazotization of a 2- aminothiazole deriv. of formula III, wherein R1 is as above described, in a mineral and/or org. acid by use of sodium nitrite or nitrosylsulfuric acid followed by coupling with an amine deriv. of formula IV, wherein R2 and R3 are as above described.
