Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A benzothiazole monoazo dyestuff shown by the formula I.
USE: A dyestuff suitable in dyeing or printing a hydrophobic fiber, especially a polyester fiber, and excellent in light fastness or the like and having a clear redWpurple color.
PREPARATION: This dyestuff is obtained by diazotizing 2-aminobenzothiazole compound shown by the formula II (wherein Y1 and Y2 are lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, halogen, nitro, cyano, thiocyanato, alkylsulphonyl), e.g.; 2-amino-6-nitrobenzothiazole, and coupling the obtained compound with a compound shwon by the formula III (wherein R1 is 4W9C alkyl; R2 is 6C or lower alkyl, or cyano; R3 is H, lower alkyl, amino, phenyl), e.g.; 3-dipentylaminoacetanilide.
