Abstract

PURPOSE:To make an electronic camera small-size and make the maintenance control of a power source cell unnecessary, by charging the power source cell simultaneously accompanying with connection to a converter when the still image signal stored in an internal storage device is transferred to an external storage device. CONSTITUTION:An electronic camera consists of an image pickup part 1 which converts the image of an object to a still image signal photoelectrically and a storage part 2 provided with memories for 20 frames each of which stores one- frame components of still image information, and these parts 1 and 2 are separated. The image pickup part 1 incorporates a power source cell E1, and the storage part 2 incorporates a charged power source cell E2, and power is supplied to the storage part 2 from the cell E1 when the storage part 2 is mounted on the image pickup part 1. When the storage part 2 is removed from the image pickup part 1 and the connector of the storage part 2 is connected to the connector of a converter for the purpose of transferring the image signal to a magnetic tape, a charge current is supplied to the cell E2 from the power supply parts of the converter of charge the cell E2.
