Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove the slack of a positive mixture by packing the mixture into a zinc can, inserting a carbon bar into the mixture after a brim paper is placed on the mixture, and re-pressing the mixture with a ring-like elastic body through the brim paper.

CONSTITUTION: A positive mixture 5 is inserted into a zinc can 1 which has a separating paper 2 on its inner side wall and a bottom paper 3 on its inner bottom surface. After the mixture 5 placed in the can 1 is compressed, a brim paper 7 is provided on the top surface of the mixture 5, and a carbon bar 9 is inserted into the mixture 5. Following that, the mixture 5 is re-pressed with the pressure of a pressing tool 12 which is applied through the paper 7 by means of a ring-like elastic body 11, which has in its center a penetration hole 10 in which the top of the carbon bar 9 is located. The elastic body 11 is made of a synthetic rubber, and re-presses the mixture 5 by being compressed and deformed so that the mixture 5 is in close contact with the separating paper 2, the carbon bar 9 and the brim paper 7. By the means mentioned above, the slack of the mixture 5 developed by the insertion of the carbon bar 9 can be removed, and the internal resistance can be reduced.
