Abstract

PURPOSE:To maintain a filament at a prescribed temperature always and to keep constant the ionization efficiency and improve the accuracy of measurement, by detecting a resistance ratio which varies correspond to the fluctuation of temperature of the filament and controlling an electric power source of the filament. CONSTITUTION:A filament 2 ionizing a trace of Na in gaseous sample by the thermal dissociation is arranged in a case 1 flowing the gas to be measured and this filament 2 is held insulating from the case 1 by an insulating bushing 4. A detection element 8 of a filament voltage V and a detection element 9 of a filament current I, are inserted between the terminals of a filamement electric power source 6 for heating the filament 2 and the voltage V and the current I detected by the elememts 8, 9, are inputted to an operator 10 and its ratio is compared with the standard value then the power source 6 is controlled by a controller 11 so as to keep constant temperature of the filament on the basis of its result of operation.
