Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the limit of position of a picked up picture and the limit of size of an input picture, and to input a picture of moving objective accurately in a high speed, by newly adding a signal compression circuit square-compressing the video signal applied to a correlation device. CONSTITUTION:At a part A of an image pickup device 10 outputting a composite video signal through bidirectional horizontal scanning of an input picture, an optical filter 22 having an aperture width which limits the light passing through a lens system 21 to <=1/2 of the scanning length at almost the middle of an image pickup tube 23 is provided. Further, a composite video signal from the device 100 is separated into a video signal and a synchronizing signal at a synchronizing pulse separation circuit 10, the separated video signal is square-compressed at a compression circuit 17, and a self- correlation signal is outputted from a correlation device 101 with a compression signal from the circuit 17. The synchronizing signal from the circuit 10 is delayed at a horizontal synchronizing time delay circuit 11, and a signal only by unidirectional scanning of the video signal is selected with the synchronizing signal delayed at a horizontal synchronism selection circuit 2. The self-correlation signal from the correlation device 101 and the output from the circuits 2, 11 are mixed at a mixer 12 to output the video signal.
