Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a muddy water conditioner which is excellent in muddy water performance such as dispersion effect, dehydration-decreasing effect, heat stability, etc. and has no fear of causing pollution problems, consisting of a complex compd. obtd. by the reaction of humic adid and/or lignin with a compd. of a titanium family element.
CONSTITUTION: 0.5W50pts.wt. compd. (such as a sulfate or a halide) of a metal selected from Group IVa metals (titanium family element such as Ti, Zr, and Hf), such as zirconium sulfate, is reacted with 100pts.wt. humic acid (such as regenerated fumic acid obtd. from coal having low rank of coalification) and/or lignin such as lignin sulfonic acid. The pH of the reaction product is adjusted to 9 or higher to obtain a muddy water conditioner.
