PURPOSE: To accurately perform the finish processing of a load cell, by utilizing the inside surface of the extruded body of the load cell as a reference to perform the finish processing of the outside surface of the body.
CONSTITUTION: A hollow and rectangular product extruded by a die and mandrel is cut off to a prescribed width to manufacutre a load cell body 1 having an upper and a lower flexible beams 4, 5. The upper and lower portions of the inside surface 1a of the body 1 are utilized as references to finish the upper and lower portions of the outside surface 1b in parallel with each other. After that, the inside surface 1a is utilized as a reference to process the outsides 1b of the base 2 and load reception part 3. The finished outside surface 1b is then utilized as a reference to finish only the strain gauge bonding portion of the inside surface 1a. Flexible concave portions 6W9 are cut by an end mill from the position of the base 2 and load reception part 3.
