Abstract

PURPOSE: To form the whole side surface of an outer case to the shape free from distorsion, by sliding the short-diameter side of the split die to the direction of short diameter in following to the sliding of the large diameter side of the split die to the direction of long diameter.
CONSTITUTION: An outer case 15 to be worked is externally fitted to the outside of a lower die 16, and each split die 21, 22, 26, 27 is driven and expanded to hold the case 15 in tight condition. The lower die 16 is moved to right under an upper die 17, which is then lowered to bend the upper rim of the case 15. After the bending, the lower die 16 is split into 4 parts and the split side of each split die 21, 22, 27 are formed to the prescribed taper.
