Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture steel sheets having beautiful surfaces which are less in coiling scar, by coiling steel sheets with a specific amount of a slushing compound applied to the surface of the steel sheet when the steel sheet is coiled.
CONSTITUTION: A bright steel band 2 temper-rolled by a temper rolling mill 1 is coiled by a coiler 4 through a deflector roll 3. An oil applying device 5 is installed between the temper rolling mill 1 and the coiler 4, and a spray header 7 is set above the steel band 2. A slushing compound is sprayed upon the surface of the steel band 2 from nozzles 8. Amount of the slushing compound to be sprayed is controlled to 1ml/m2W10ml/m2. To achieve this spraying rate, the flow rate of the compound is adjusted in accordance with the coiling speed of the steel band 2.
