CONSTITUTION:A triangular wave generator 10 generates a triangular wave signal F synchronized with the oscillation frequency P with a speed set signal S and an oscillation frequency P, while a level unit 9 generates a preselected reference voltage E, and delivers to various modulators 11. The modulators 11 compares the voltage level of the triangular wave signal F with the reference voltage E to produce a chopping signal K to a distributor 8 so as to decide the zero width of the voltage between lines at the position over + or -30 deg. or + or -150 deg.. A zero modulation position determining unit 12 produces respective phase modulating positions A', B', C' for determining the zero modulating positions of the respective phases with the outputs A, B, C of 3-phase signal generator. The distributor 8 generates gate signals A, B, C of the respective phases to an inverter 7 with the 3-phase signals A, B, C and modulating position signals A', B', C' and chopping signal K, and eventually producing line voltage waveforms U', V', W' of a motor.
