PURPOSE:To obtain high purity M2PO3F efficiently and inexpensively by charging powder of alkali metallic pyrophosphate or alkali metallic primary phosphate into a reactor made of Al, heating the powder, introducing preheated hydrogen fluoride, and reacting them. CONSTITUTION:A heater is set at the outside of a reactor made of Al and provided with an agitator made of Al. Powder of alkali metallic pyrophosphate or alikali metallic primary phosphate is charged into the reactor and heated to 200-450 deg.C. Hydrogen fluoride preheated to >=100 deg.C is then introduced while agitating the powder, and a reaction represented by equationIor II (where M is Na or K) is caused to obtain desired alkali monofluorophosphate. The progress of a side reaction represented by equation III or IV is prevented, so the product has high purity. Since the reactor is made of Al, the corrosion of the reactor is prevented.
