Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the operation and to improve the safety of navigation, by separating quickly a troubled hydraulic system by a slide valve to continue the steering using the remaining hydraulic system in a case that a trouble has occured for example in a main oil path connected to each a hydraulic cylinder for steering.
CONSTITUTION: The whole system comprises the same two systems located symmetrically to opposite sides. In the steering system on the right side, a power unit 10 is connected through an oil block valve 12 by the main oil pathes 13, 14 to the hydraulic cylinders 1, 3 through which a steering shaft 7 is driven. The main oil pathes 13, 14 and main oil pathes 23, 24 having the same construction as the main oil pathes 13, 14 and located on the left side are connected to interconnecting lines 31, 32 through the slides valves 15, 25. The slide valve 15 can be changed in one touch by manual levers 15-3, 25-3, and can be put in the communicative state when the hydraulic systems are normal, and when one of the hydraulic systems becomes troubled, the troubled hydraulic system can be cut.
