Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the sliding movement between a printing head and a platen in a place where no printing paper exists by a method in which a supporter is separated from a press bar in the range where the printing head comes into contact with the printing paper, but the printing head is lifted above the platen out of the range. CONSTITUTION:When a printing head 1 is moving on a paper 5, the printing head 3 is pressed on the paper 5 by the spring force of a compressive spring 4. At this time, the tip of a support frame 2 is lifted upwards by the printing head 3 in such a way that it is separated by a distance l1 from the upper edge of a press bar 7. When the printing head 3 further moves toward the right side and is separated from the end of the paper 5, the printing head 3 and the support frame 2 are further pushed down by the spring force of the compressive spring 4. Before the printing head 3 goes down to a place where it is touched by the platen 8, however, the tip of the support frame 2 is coupled with the upper edge of the press bar 7 and prevented from further falling. Thus, a distance l2 can be kept between the printing head 3 and the platen 8.
